PiKSi Dust® In-furrow soil amendment

PiKSi Dust® is a silica-based soil amendment designed for in-furrow application at planting on all crops.  This product may help reduce lodging, and enhances plant tolerance to abiotic stresses such as temperature extremes, excessive salt levels, and heavy metal toxicity. This product also improves water use efficiency and helps alleviate drought stress. Growers who apply this product will typically not see much in the way of a visual difference above the soil surface; however, this product tends to optimize soil conditions for greater root mass, so growers are encouraged to dig plants up and compare root systems against check strips when this product is used.

This product may be co-applied with other fertilizer and chemical inputs unless prohibited by the co-applied products’ label(s). Mix PiKSi Dust® using the WALES method:

• Wettable powders
• Agitate then add adjuvants 
• Liquids (flowable liquids)
• Emulsifiable concentrates
• Surfactants

Always add PiKSi Dust® first to the spray or fertilizer tank. Never mix PiKSi Dust® with nitrate solutions (e.g. Urea Ammonium Nitrate). Always perform a jar test before attempting to co-apply PiKSi Dust®. Do not apply this product as a foliar spray.
PiKSi Dust® use rate is 1.5 grams per gallon of total applied liquid.  Therefore, a 750-gram jar gets dissolved in 500 gallons of water and/or pop-up or starter fertilizer.

Note that you don’t need to use PiKSi Dust® if you’ve applied manure in the past two years as part of your fertility program.
